Linux Forwarder
Every published Linux forwarder build, newest first, each with its per-distribution packages and the auditd prerequisite.
Every Linux forwarder release we have published, newest first. Each page lists one package per distribution family, and one per major release for the RHEL family.
| Release | Notes |
|---|---|
| Linux v2.5.1 | Current. Use this one unless you have a reason not to |
| Linux v2.5.0 | First release supporting install in sleep mode |
| Linux v2.4.6 | |
| Linux v2.4.5 | |
| Linux v2.4.3 |
Older releases are kept under EOL below, for identifying what a host is running rather than for fresh installs.
Two things apply to every version on this page. auditd must be enabled on the host -- without it the forwarder installs, starts, registers, and then sees almost nothing, which is a painful thing to diagnose weeks later. And match the package to your major release, not to your kernel; the kernel versions on each release page record what was tested.
What should I read next?
- Install the Forwarder, if this is a new deployment.
- Upgrade Forwarder, for in-place upgrades and fleet-wide rollouts.
- Linux Troubleshooting, if a host installs but stays quiet.
